All the girls at Flynn High School are getting sick, and no one seems to know why. They shake, they stutter, and they all share a strange hallucination involving Sage Macklin, the prom queen who disappeared under mysterious circumstances a month ago. As her own symptoms worsen, outcast teenager Minna Margrove is driven to discover the cause of the illness before the visions overwhelm both her and the one friend she has. She has allies in a sympathetic Vice-Principal and a concerned adolescent psychiatrist, who launch their own investigations. But Minna's also stalked by an obsessive FBI agent convinced that the epidemic is linked to a gruesome event at the school- an unsolved crime for which Minna is his number one suspect.
